My sister originally let my neice try a similar program similar to this on a Windows 7 computer with a touch screen monitor. My neice totally enjoyed the program and wa slearning quite a bit with it. When my sister ended up losing that computer system, she asked me to search for a comparable program that will work on a non-touchscreen system and this is what I found. We have had it now for nearly a month and my neice still loves playing it and always makes sure to have homework and chores done as quickly as she can in order to play it everyday.

This game has my 9 yr old challenged, occasionally frustrated, but overall very entertained. The professor is annoying, but so far the rest of the game is just great. It’s the sort of game that requires thinking that can spill out into the real world–on the first day she played it we ended up talking about motors, generators and energy conversion.

Works on Windows 7 64-bit after some compatibility adjustments. I forget precisely what I did, but I think I had to run the installer under XP service pack 2 compatibility.

My son and I have had fun playing this game together. He is 10 (I’m a bit older). Some of the puzzle/scenarios are pretty easy, while others are more challenging. The more complicated ones may offer more than one possible solution –we’ve had a couple of solutions that are different than the designer’s “plan”. I agree with previous reviews that kids can learn a little about physics, too. We discuss possible solutions together and try them out, and so the process is the real value in the game.
