   i installed this on my vista pc with no problems. i also installed it on my sisters laptop with no problems neither. i would recommend this to anyone that wants protection. all i use is norton anyways because they make the best anti-virus software to me.

   I’ll assume that any prospective purchaser will have already evaluated Norton versus other security software. This is NOT a review of the software (which I happen to like) but a review of Norton’s customer support.

   What I can tell you is that Norton’s support staff is dedicated to getting your software up and running. It may take some time and you could argue — I never should have had a problem to begin with but I have gotten great technical support from Norton on TWO different products, on TWO different occasions, months apart.

   History: I own three PCs. I purchased Norton Internet Security 2009 edition/1 User/3 PCs and at a later date – Norton Internet Security 2010 edition/1 User/3 PCs. In each case the software installed perfectly on 2 out of 3 PCs.

   In each case – 12 months apart – I had a problem installing the software on a third PC. The software simply would not install.

   It took a bit of time but I contacted Norton tech support on-line. We engaged in a chat session and the Norton tech staff took control of my PC (with my permission). While it took over 2 hours – in each case – the Norton technicians fixed my problem. While it certainly was not fast and you could argue the problem should never have occurred – I really feel Norton should be congratulated for taking ownership of the problem until it was fixed. BTW – In each case – it was a different problem. Norton technical staff stuck with the problem, were always extremely polite and never quit until the software was up and running.

   Kudos to Norton on their technical support! As you evaluate security software keep in mind the superior technical support I’ve experienced on two very different occasions, months apart from Norton.

   The one criticism I have regarding Norton’s technical support is that it is not obvious how to contact their technical support people on-line. You’ll have to hunt through a few web pages to access a chat session with a support person. That access is buried in their self help tutorials, etc.

   Nevertheless it is clear that Norton, on two very different occasions, showed a deep commitment to resolving my problem and never quit until my problem was resolved.

   When was the last time you heard that about a technical support staff?

   The product is strong and does not seem to suck as much system resources as earlier versions. My only main complaint at this time is the inability to get selective as to which cookies that are flagged are be be deleted or excluded. Your only option is all or nothing. Exclude them all or delete them all. Some cookies are beneficial to making life easier on trusted websites and others you would prefer to delete. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be that level of flexability.

   After having my computer attacked by a nasty virus that completely infiltrated my system, I installed this Norton program and was really pleased with the results! The installation itself was relatively quick and easy, as the step-by-step instructions guided me through each screen without any glitches. Now the program’s been on my computer for a few weeks, and seems to be working pretty well. Overall I’ve had a positive experience with the Norton programs, and this one seems to be just as good.
